2022 TAXPAYER NOTICE
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will mail out 2022 Property Tax Bills on or before October 29, 2022. All tax bills are mailed to the homeowner. If you have an Escrow account, contact your Mortgage Company to see if they require a copy of your tax bill from you.
The 2022 collection dates for Franklin County, KY are as follows:

November 1, 2022 – November 30, 2022 = 2% Discount Period
December 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022 = Base Amount Period
January 1, 2023 – January 31, 2023 = 5% Penalty Period
February 1, 2023 – April 15, 2023 = 21% Penalty Period
In accordance with KRS 134.119 we accept a United States Postmark.

Property Tax Payment Drop Box (This Drop Box is under 24 hour surveillance)
Our office has a Secured Property Tax Payment Drop Box located at the right side of our front door. This box is accessible 24/7. If you want a paid receipt, please include a Self-addressed Stamped Envelope with your payment. Please include your Phone Number with your payment. Do NOT leave Cash in this Drop Box.
*NEW Online Property Tax Payment
A new online property tax payment option will be available for paying 2022 County Property Tax bills. Online payment of your County tax bill can only be paid through our Sheriff’s website at www.franklincountysheriffsoffice.net. Use your 2022 County tax bill number when paying online to ensure proper payment. Fees will apply and will be disclosed prior to submitting your online payment. Online payments can be made with Credit or Debit cards only.
Additional Important Information
1. On February 1, 2023 Delinquent Notices will be mailed for all Unpaid tax bills.
2. At the end of our business day of April 15, 2023, we will turn over all unpaid tax bills to the Franklin County Clerk for collections, where significant fees and penalties will apply, and are subject to tax sale.
3. Acceptable forms of payment, Cash, Personal or Business Check, Cashier’s Check, Money Order, Credit or Debit Card. (There is a processing fee for Credit and Debit cards) We do not accept third party checks.
If you are 65 or older, or receive Disability, you may qualify for a Homestead Exemption on your Property Taxes. Please contact the Franklin County PVA Office at (502) 875-8780 for more details, prior to paying your tax bill.
